The absolute best networking that can be had is at SXSW Interactive in Austin TX, in March. The tech & online world all come to Austin - so you can see a lot of people and make a lot of connections while you are in one city. Are you interested in sharing a house for SXSW 2015 in Austin TX? I've booked an amazing house that is a couple of blocks from the convention center, and will sleep 8-10 people. We will be sharing rooms, and want to make everyone as comfortable as possible. The house is reserved from Tues 3/10 through Wed 3/18, and it will cost $1800 for each person for the 8 nights - if you are coming for less than the full 8 nights, it's $300 per night (3 night minimum). If you're in, you're in for the whole amount and how ever long you want to stay.
The actual conference dates for SXSW interactive are March 13-17, 2015. There are always local activities a couple days before the conference starts, and the exhibit floor is open as Interactive transitions into the Music Festival.

If you've tried to book a hotel downtown - you know that if you can get a room (which you are 99% guaranteed that you can't book) - they are over $400 or $500 per room per night, and if you stay further out, you pay $200 for a room and spend all of your time on the shuttles. Your time is better spent networking, going to sessions and meeting people.
I've invested in going to SXSW for the past two years - and it's paid off every year with new business and great connections. So if you are going to be at SXSW, this is the place to stay. It's just a few blocks from the conference center. Be in the middle of all the action.
